Porosity is an important parameter the magnitude and nature of change of which can be used for predicting changes of the structure and insulating properties of developing cement stone. In recent years, few studies have addressed the problem of cement stone porosity. To reduce porosity and improve the insulating properties of developing cement stone, it has been proposed to use, for example, lightweight additives, micro-cement, gypsum and suspensions with increased solids content achieved by optimizing the composition of fillers in the mixture. The authors of the article demonstrate the effect of various fillers and functional additives on the cement stone porosity. Specific examples demonstrate that UMSS copolymers and styrene-butadiene latex do not allow reducing the porosity of cement stone, while the use of micro-fillers and optimization of the dry mix composition by particle size can significantly reduce pore space.
