On the calculation of casing pipes strength parameters that withstand the pressure of flowing salt rocks

Annotation:

Flowing salt rocks pose challenges during wells construction. The situation becomes worse by the fact that it is impossible to stabilize or prevent rocks flow into a well at the expense of using drilling fluid parameters. A radical solution is to increase the strength of the casing string pipes. The pipes should withstand the specific loads created by flowing rocks. The issue concerns the correctness of the calculation model reflecting the nature of the interaction between the fluid formation and the casing string pipes, the magnitude of the load and the strength calculations of the casing string pipes. The authors of the article summarize the results of research and solutions obtained in the domestic industry in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The calculation of casing string pipes strength parameters proposed by Syrian researchers, where damage to casing pipes by fluid rock has been encountered relatively recently is analyzed. Furthermore, an algorithm used for determining the strength characteristics of pipes using a rheological model of salt rocks is analyzed as well. The necessity of developing a unified methodological approach to calculating the strength parameters of pipes under fluid rock pressure is raised.
