Annotation:

The authors of the article consider the application of horizontal sidetracking technology at an oil and gas field within the Vankor "cluster". The field has a complex structure, divided into several fields, two of which are oil ones. One of these fields has been fairly well studied and developed; the data has been obtained indicating that it consists of a formation composed of two types of reservoirs. The underlying reservoir is low permeable but has good porosity and oil properties, making it feasible to extract fluid from it by drilling horizontal sidetracks in the existing wells to develop the upper reservoir. The technological efficiency of horizontal sidetracking is proved and calculations are performed to determine the optimal sidetracking parameters.
