Technological specific features of constructing deep hydrocarbon and hydromineral wells in the southern Siberian Platform

Annotation:
The authors of the article overview and analyze information on the main complications encountered during deep well drilling in the south of the Siberian Platform as well as technologies for penetrating hydrocarbon-saturated horizons or natural brines (NB), which are found (gushing) in virtually all areas of the Siberian Platform and contain a wide range of chemical elements: lithium, sodium, rubidium, cesium, boron, magnesium, calcium, strontium, manganese, bromine, iodine and others. The practical use of NB for the preparation of heavy drilling fluids and other reagents suitable for their thickening is also considered. The compositions and properties of drilling fluids required for construction of oil and gas wells with abnormally high formation pressures (AHFP) [1], both within the Irkutsk Region and in other regions of the Siberian Platform are also characterized. Technological solutions for the construction of hydrocarbon and hydromineral wells as well as methods for producing multicomponent concentrates from the brine of the Znamenskoye hydromineral field (HMF) and from the NB of the Kovykta gas condensate field (GCF) have been developed to improve the logistics of their use as mineralizers, weighting agents, and inhibitors for drilling fluids in remote parts of the Siberian platform. New general approaches to the construction of hydrocarbon and hydromineral wells [2] are also discussed as well as problems related to complications arising during drilling in complex mining and geological conditions, including when drilling magnetic rocks. The total volume of all volcanic rocks of the Siberian traps occupies approximately 3×106 km3. These rocks, the thickness of which (up to 20 % of the well depth) makes an insignificant portion of the section, are the most energy-intensive rocks in terms of drilling – dolerites. Their drilling accounts for up to 10 % of the total construction time of a deep well.
