Annotation:
Geological resources of low-permeable gas reservoirs account for 46 % of the proven geological resources of conventional natural gas. Currently, gas production from low-permeable gas reservoirs is carried out in the United States, China, and Canada. In the United States, the share of gas production from low-permeable gas reservoirs has gradually decreased since 2008. It is caused by the fact that the primary focus of unconventional natural gas development is on shale gas plays, which slow down the development of the direction associated with the production of gas from low-permeable gas reservoirs. China is increasing gas production from low-permeable gas reservoirs. In 2023, its production reached 11 % of the country's total gas production. Canada is the leader in the development of low-permeable gas reservoirs. In 2023, the share of this resource made 68 % of the total gas produced in the country.
