Annotation:
The oil and gas industry is a key one to Norway's budget. The country is one of the world's leading oil and gas producer, being a leader in the extraction and export of energy resources. Commercial oil production in Norway began in the 1970s on the continental shelf of the North, Norwegian and Barents Seas. The country produces Brent crude oil at a self-cost of $20…30 per barrel. As of the end of 2024, the total volume of resources on the Norwegian shelf is about 15,6 billion m3 of oil equivalent. Almost all volumes of the produced natural gas and most part of the crude oil is exported, mainly through pipelines laid on the bottom of the North Sea. It is expected that in future, oil and gas production in Norway will gradually decrease, however, the country will remain a key supplier of energy to Europe.
