Decrease of geological uncertainty when supporting production drilling on the example of a high-viscous oil field in the Timan-Pechora oil and gas province

Annotation:
The problem of increasing oil recovery and improving the use of oil reserves in the developed oil fields is becoming more acute from year to year. The high-viscous oil field, discussed by the authors of the article, has a complex geological and tectonic structure, which complicates horizontal production wells drilling. To improve the quality and reliability of forecasting technological indicators of development, it became necessary to increase the accuracy of predicted geological constructions. Currently, before drilling wells in areas with increased geological uncertainty, a comprehensive preliminary assessment of the risks of possible complications is carried out. Thanks to the adopted strategy, the predictive accuracy of the calculations increased by 44 %.
