Annotation:
The author of the article overviews the existing methods of determining the strength reliability and assurance factor of thin-walled vessels and proposes a method for determining the reliability in relation to large-scale isothermal tanks for storing liquefied natural gas, taking into account the random nature of the loads acting on the LNG tank. The necessity of carrying out additional researches on the actual distribution laws of tank steels mechanical characteristics and the storage mode parameters of the product is also indicated.
