Annotation:
Hydraulic fracturing successful implementation in horizontal wells requires understanding regional stresses as well as the azimuthal direction of horizontal wells that maximizes well performance. The objective of this study was to analyze the production characteristics of horizontal wells subjected to multistage hydraulic fracturing, taking into account the transverse and longitudinal directions of fractures, for the objects with hard-to-recover oil reserves in the Western Siberian region.
In the course of work, 74 horizontal wells with 15-stage hydraulic fracturing were studied. Key operational characteristics over a 12-month production period were examined, including average monthly flow rate, cumulative oil and liquid production and water-flooding. Based on the analysis results, the most preferred horizontal well placement option, taking into account the transverse and longitudinal directions of fractures, was determined for development object under study.
