Annotation:
The relevance of the article is caused by the fact that oil and gas industry is a backbone element of the Russian economy. The article is aimed at studying some specific features of the organizational-economic mechanism of the oil and gas complex development in contemporary conditions, characterized by sanctions of the main gas consumer up to 2022. Comparative and logical analysis, systematization and generalization of practical approaches to the energy industry functioning, analysis of scientific literature and theoretical concepts in this area were used as research methods. The article highlights the trends in the development of the oil and gas complex of Russia and Sakhalin Island, shows the importance of establishing partnerships with India and China and activation of innovative processes in the industry. An organizational-economic mechanism of the oil and gas complex development is proposed, which takes into account the peculiarities of business structures functioning in the oil and gas industry in Russia and the development factors of each region.
