Annotation:

In the current challenging geopolitical environment, domestic oil and gas companies are facing pressing challenges of reorienting their growth strategies and diversifying their activities, aiming to enhance business stability and expand their development portfolio, including product lines, services, and sales markets. It is the context in which the ecosystem approach, which implies the integration of resources, competencies and partnerships, assumes particular significance as a key instrument for improving operational efficiency and strengthening companies' competitive advantages. The authors of the article consider the theoretical aspects of the economic ecosystems emergence and development, analyze their role in the modern world, and define the importance of ecosystems as a key element of contemporary government policy. The limitation of the ecosystem approach theory in industry and the lack of in-depth research of oil and gas companies’ integration into ecosystems are also highlighted. The stages of industrial policy development, including a separate stage associated with the formation of new elements of contemporary industrial policy, specifically applicable to the oil and gas sector are presented. The example of "Gazprom Neft" PJSC of presents development, which has evolved from a traditional vertically integrated structure to a member of the Interregional Oil and Gas Cluster, creating its own ecosystem that brings together projects and partners for joint collaboration and sustainable growth is presented. The company's experience clearly demonstrates the process of its transformation into an adaptive system that facilitates the integration and cooperation of various market participants, increased productivity, and a stronger competitive position on the international stage.
