Annotation:

Technological development, including the development of "clean" energy technologies, is a priority both at the international and national levels. The experience and knowledge accumulated in oil and gas companies (OGC) overlap with recently rapidly developing low-carbon technologies. It allows oil and gas companies, on the one hand, to obtain a synergistic effect from the use of their competencies, data and infrastructure when implementing energy transition projects. On the other hand, oil and gas companies can significantly contribute to the development of critical "green" technologies, which will allow them to move towards decarbonization. The authors of the article examine the areas of synergy between oil and gas companies (OGC) competencies and new "green" technologies as well as the practical experience of foreign and Russian oil majors in developing technologies and knowledge for low-carbon projects, including renewable energy sources.
