Promising development directions for multifunctional drilling fluid additives

Annotation:

This scientific study outlines the development of a multifunctional composition through chemical modification of oil-and-fat industry waste using normal alcohols. The influence of the developed multifunctional additives on the properties of water-based drilling fluids is evaluated. A formulation for emulsion drilling fluids is proposed, wherein the developed compounds are considered as multifunctional emulsifiers. Following the research algorithm, the surfactants’ interfacial, adsorption, and tribological parameters are investigated, along with their inhibitory capacity and protective effect. Filtration tests determine the impact of the technological fluids on core permeability and establish the optimal working concentrations for the studied compounds.
