Annotation:

The article presents the requirements to geographic information systems (GIS), which are used for computational models and visualization of plan-fact analysis during diagnostic and repair works in extended objects. The existing GIS have been comparatively analyzed. A set of criteria for the analysis is defined. Particular attention is paid to the issue of import substitution in the field of cartographic technologies. A choice is made and recommendations are given on the preferred use of the selected cartographic subsystem, taking into account certain criteria.
