Annotation:

The paper presents the results of the analysis of the factors influence degree which cause the emergence and development of insulation coating defects of a main gas pipeline. The developed classification of factors leading to the damage of the insulating coating of main gas and oil pipelines at the stages of construction and operation is represented by two groups of their constituents: regulated and non-regulated. It has been revealed that the most important factors that can form pipelines’ film coating defectiveness are soil characteristics and temperature changes in the environmental and pumped media It is shown that improvement of the methods for detecting the degree of underground pipelines coating sagging requires taking into account these factors and their constituents in order to form a new methodological base for monitoring the insulation coating of main gas and oil pipelines.
