Annotation:

The article presents a methodology for calculating the static strength of Т-welded joints of vertical steel tanks. The method clarifies the normative calculation method underlying the existing normative documents. The methodology makes it possible by calculation to take into account the base metal penetration depth for the tank body of the vertical wall with various welding methods. The developed methodology is aimed at modernizing the normative calculation method for T-welded joints static strength. Using the proposed methodology, it is possible to calculate the Т-joints optimal structural-geometric parameters of joints – the weld cathetus size, the depth of penetration, etc. This will ensure the required level of T-welded joints bearing capacity while reducing the deposited metal volume.
