The problems concerning comparative efficiency of diagnostic examination technologies of pipelines at compressor stations inlet-outlet flow-lines based on defect detector robots and on-ground magnetometric diagnostic devices are considered. The experience of using complexes of ground-based pipeline diagnostic instruments using magnetometric survey methods for diagnosing pipelines from the ground, which allow determining the spatial position and detecting defects in the base metal of the pipe and welds, is analyzed. The results of full-scale tests of a number of non-contact magnetometric complexes produced by various manufacturers are considered, expert opinions are given on the presence of a number of significant comments on all tested complexes and the need to refine both the instrument part and the algorithms for magnetometric data processing. It is concluded that a new generation of complexes should be developed that take into account the requirements of PJSC "Gazprom" for the equipment and methodological support of magnetometric diagnostics. The required technical-economic characteristics of a new generation of magnetometric complexes are given. It is shown that when examining the pipelines of the inlet-outlet flow-lines of compressor stations, the use of modern equipment and integrated technology of combined magnetometric survey will solve the main problem of diagnostics – to reveal the causes of defects occurrence and development and to develop recommendations for their elimination.
