Annotation:

Buried Neogene river valleys (incisions), which are widespread in the Samara region, are almost the only sources of information about the long period of the territory development in the Neogene age. The study of incisions provides extensive information not only on the development of the river network, but also on various aspects of relief development, and is an important source of paleo-geographic reconstructions. For geophysical studies, the Neogene incisions are contrasting velocity anomalies. Underestimation of the influence of these velocity anomalies leads to significant difficulties when processing and interpreting seismic data, and subsequently to distortion of the real morphology of reflecting horizons, creating false anticlinal structures and leveling the true ones.
