Annotation:

The article is devoted to the problem of determining the prospects for the oil and gas content of the deep-lying horizons of the Peredovye Ridges of the North-Eastern Caucasus, which is relevant for the area under consideration, which characterizes the high development of the upper oil- and gas-bearing horizons. The novelty of the researches lies in the multifactorial approach to the problem of hydrocarbon accumulations formation in the subsoil of the Earth from the standpoint of modern theories and concepts. The formation mechanisms of the Tersk and Sunzha anticlinories as the main zones of oil and gas accumulation are described. It is suggested that high-amplitude anticlinal folds were formed in the Upper Cretaceous deposits as a result of vertical migration of high-pressure fluids along deep faults with their breakthrough into the upper horizons of the sedimentary cover in the late orogenic phases of folding. The interrelation of seismicity, clay diapirism, mud volcanism and oil and gas content is analyzed on the example of Peredovye Ridges (Terskaya and Sunzha anticlinal zones) of the North-Eastern Caucasus. The main features of the geological structure (the presence of differently oriented deep faults, highly plastic clayey rocks of the Maikopean age, etc.), causing active fluid-dynamic processes in the area under consideration are noted.
