Algorithm for automated well logging interpretation in the section of the Upper Jurassic deposits in the western part of the West Siberian oil- and gas-bearing basin

Annotation:

Identification of reservoirs is one of the main tasks of geology required for the reserves evaluation and planning of efficient fields’ development. The article considers an automated algorithm based on the methodology for identifying reservoirs in the section of the Upper Jurassic deposits on the example of the Sredne-Nazymskoye field. The methodology is universal due to the use of the accumulated experience in well logging data processing and core studies. To ensure the algorithm flexibility, an "envelope curve" parameter is introduced. The proposed algorithm is adapted to the wells of the Sredne-Nazymskoye field, subjected to core sampling and manual interpretation of well logging. The algorithm has been tested as part of the project for building a zonal model of more than 400 wells located in the Upper Jurassic deposits, thus allowing a multiple increase of a specialist’s operational efficiency when processing a large amount of logging data. Through a comparative analysis with the results of the well logging core samples data interpretation carried out by a specialist, the operation of the algorithm was assessed as very reliable.
