Regulation of invert emulsion drilling fluids inhibiting properties

Annotation:

The comparative analysis of methods for improving the invert emulsion drilling fluids (IEDF) inhibitory properties are presented. The results of laboratory studies of the IEDF inhibitory properties evaluating are considered. It is shown, that the IEDF inhibitory properties are determined by the emulsion stability and the activity of the aqueous phase of IEDF. In addition, the IEDF inhibitory properties are influenced by its colmatation properties. The approaches, proposed in the article, to regulating the IEDF inhibitory properties allow to reduce the number of accidents and non-productive time in the drilling process.
