Conformance control of injectivity profile is one of the urgent tasks of increasing the efficiency of oil field operation at mature and late stages of development. There are a sufficient number of methods and criteria for selecting wells and ranking them, both technical and taking into account the geological structure, the current state of reservoir production and the results of special studies. One of these criteria is the uneven coverage of the reservoir by flooding over the area and the low efficiency of using the injected water in terms of its contribution to oil production.

An operational assessment of the efficiency of flooding coverage over the area can be performed based on CRM (Capacitance Resistance Model) models, based on an analytical solution of the material balance equation and the deliverability equation. Due to its speed and physicality, such models can be used as an alternative to hydrodynamic simulators.

The main tasks of CRM models are to determine the coefficients of interwell connectivity, i. e. the share of injection coming from a specific injection well to the reacting ones. Also, in such models, a time constant is determined that reflects the smoothness and completeness of the reaction of the liquid flow rate to a change in injectivity. The specified parameters can be used to analyze flooding and develop solutions for selecting wells for injection conformance control.

And if the above-mentioned estimates directly follow from the CRM formula, then an in-depth analysis shows that it is possible to use additional criteria following from the possibility of interpreting the material balance equation and the new author’s model of water cut. So, for the selection of injection wells, the concepts of the potential of an injection well for its contribution to additional oil production, unproductive injection, a characteristic of the unevenness of the areal sweep efficiency of flooding, the number of observation (reacting) wells, and the unevenness of the response time of producing wells are introduced. Possible production losses due to a decrease in injectivity as a result of injection conformance control treatments are taken into account.

The article also proposes a methodology for ranking wells and taking into account risks using the example of one of the fields in Western Siberia.
