Annotation:
The relevance of the chosen topic is confirmed by the fact that currently all vertically integrated oil and gas companies are working to reduce excess reserves of material and technical resources. If an organization has a large number of excess and illiquid MTR reserves, it means that there are problems with the inventory management system that should be addressed, and the sooner the better. The authors of the article provide a classification of MTR reserves, definitions of excess and illiquid MTR reserves. The causes of occurrence, methods of identification and methods of excess stocks management are considered. The current local regulatory documents of Russian and foreign oil and gas companies aimed at regulating the supply chain are analyzed, starting from the formation of demand, preparation of procurement documentation and entering the tender procedure, and up to the supply of materials/services and their involvement in production. The similarities and differences in the above-mentioned systems are revealed. ABC analysis was applied using the example of a subsidiary of PJSC NK Rosneft to prevent the appearance and decrease of illiquid and excess reserves of MTR.
