Transport-logistic service quality and international shipment of Russian bulk oil cargoes

Annotation:

Ongoing politically-induced transformation of international oil trading system has already led to two tangible outcomes when executing maritime shipment of crude oil and oil products from Russia. First, there has been a fundamental change of contract work resulted in Shipper’s (oil trader) undertaking of all expenses and risks till the agreed upon place of destination. Second, export flows of Russian bulk oil cargoes are transported by tankers of the so called "shadow fleet" controlled, to a varying degree, by Russian business. In the existing conditions, "quality of the transportation and logistics services" category in the context of sanctioned bulk oil cargoes transportation to the overseas markets are of a research interest. It has been revealed that traditional criteria, such as price, speed and tracking option, could be hardly applied to the case in question, but in the sanctions realities it is not of prime importance. Thus, the authors of the article undertake an attempt to appreciate the qualities of bulk oil cargoes transportation service when executing a maritime shipment of crude oil and oil products from Russia.
