Annotation:

The assessment of wind and solar energy potential in Russia and China was carried out by a group of Master students and instructors from the Department of Thermodynamics and Heat Engines of Gubkin University in cooperation with specialists from China. This was done within the framework of scientific research conducted under the program "Energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources for oil and gas complex". China and Russia are among the group of world leaders in energy consumption, this is a consequence of the rapid development of the world's leading economies, which include the economies of China and Russia. From what sources Russia with our neighbor and reliable partner – China, plan to extract energy to meet rapidly growing needs in the medium and long term? Taking into account the vast territory of Russia and China one of the options for replenishing energy resources may be obtaining energy from renewable sources, especially using solar and wind energy. The article provides the assessment of wind and solar energy theoretical and technical potential in Russia and China.
