Hydrogeochemical system of Proterozoic and Devonian terigenic deposits in the north of the Kamsko-Belsk trough and adjacent territories

Annotation:

The hydrogeological conditions of the Riphean-Vendian and Devonian terigenic (Emsian-Lower Frasnian) deposits of the northern part of the Kamsko-Belsky trough (KBT) and in the zone of its development are considered. A comparative analysis of the hydrogeochemical parameters of reservoir waters was carried out on the basis of the box plot diagrams proposed by J. Tukey as the most illustrative method. As a result of a comprehensive analysis of the composition of brines in the KBT contour, a special hydrogeochemical system was identified. This differs significantly in terms of bromine, calcium, ammonium, iodine concentrations, sulfate coefficients, and metamorphism from brines outside the KBT contour. The relationship between the chemical composition of brines and the oil and gas generation potential of the KBT and the possible elusive migration of water into the crystalline basement is considered. The genesis of the Riphean-Vendian brines in terms of bromine and calcium is associated with the organic matter of silt deposits. Low sulfate content in the water indicates that it had been in contact with large volumes of rocks containing hydrocarbons. The hydrogeological knowledge of the studied KBP deposits is currently insufficient for quantitative migration and accumulation assessments, but it allows for the creation of geomigration models of deep fluids. New hydrogeological information can be used in the design of deep parametric wells in Riphean-Vendian deposits.
