Development of a methodology for assessing safety culture in the oil and gas industry

Annotation:

The authors of the article developed a universal methodology for assessing the level of industrial safety culture that includes constructing a questionnairy and results processing, adapted to the organization specifics in order to provide a justified assessment of industrial safety at the enterprises of the oil and gas complex The study brings qualitative safety indicators to quantitative measuring indicators. Modern sociological methods of questioning and statistical data processing were chosen as the methodological basis of the study. The questionnaire and questions were developed based on the Likert scale, and the Harrington desirability scale was applied to quantify the results. As a result of the study, a toolkit has been developed for evaluating the components of a safety culture, including four questions for each component.
