Comparative analysis of efficient development of carbonate deposits reserves of one of the field in the Middle East under various water-flooding schemes

Annotation:

Due to the reservoir’s complex structure and heterogeneous properties of one of the deposits of the Middle East, there arise a lot of questions related to the design of the development. The appropriate solution requires analysis of reservoir pressure maintenance by conducting multivariate calculations. There remain debatable issues related to the optimal conditions of producing and injection wells placement and choosing the type of wells when applying the water-flooding method in the carbonate deposits of the field under consideration. Thus, in the course of the work, various options of production and injection wells placement were calculated for a deposit of one oil field in the Middle East. Production potential due to a reservoir and fluids elastic characteristics was calculated.

The efficiency of the field development during water-flooding and without it was analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of various schemes for maintaining reservoir pressure in the reef part and the deposit in the whole have been estimated and presented.
