Annotation:

Recently, smart wells technologies have been increasingly applied in the oil and gas industry. However, the data on the economic efficiency of such technologies are very limited, which does not allow assessing their applicability to different mining-geological and field-geological conditions. The authors of the article compare the economic efficiency of a horizontal well with a conventional completion (perforated cased borehole) and horizontal well using autonomous control devices under different reservoir and well characteristics. The comparison is of particular interest because autonomous inflow control devices qualitatively and quantitatively change the formation fluids inflow into the well, significantly affecting its operational efficiency. Calculation of production dynamics was performed on the generated sector hydrodynamic model of a horizontal well operating in the depletion mode. The analysis of the study results allowed determining the applicability criteria of the proposed configuration at the object of study, as well as establishing general dependencies of net discounted income on reservoir characteristics for the considered well completions.
