Annotation:
The paper implements approaches to dissecting the section of bituminous deposits of the West Siberian oil and gas province based on digital photographs of the core and a standard complex of geophysical well surveys with the possibility of identifying productive intervals. The author proposes the processing and correction of a digital image of a rock with an enhancement of its features and an improvement in the subjective perception of the Red-Green-Blue color model, which makes it possible to identify color-separated elements and intervals in the core column. The algorithm used on the basis of standard operating systems and tools from graphical vector editors is shown, which enables to differentiate complex sediments from photographs of the core in daylight. The author demonstrates a step-by-step approach to dissecting bituminous rocks, with the possibility of analyzing them according to qualitative and quantitative criteria that can be used to identify individual stratigraphic, lithological, and facies features of the section under study.
