Annotation:

The share of natural gas in Russian fuel and energy balance remains significant due to big fuel reserves, relatively low prices and environmental factors. To ensure the volumetric indicators of the gas consumption and transportation subsystems long-term development, it is necessary to assess technological and technical solutions and finances required for industry facilities capital rehabilitation, reconstruction and development projects. Determination of the gas transportation effective techniques depending on the supply volumes and transportation distance can be based on newly developed methodological approach to cost estimation of gas supplies routes. The article considers the essence of the methodological approach, comparing the pipeline gas supplies, liquefied natural gas transportation, gas-to-liquids and methanol. The provisions of the methodological approach can be used with other forms of energy supply. The novelty of the approach lies in the development of the comprehensive system of determining the effective gas supply methods depending on the transportation leg, taking into account various forms of energy substitution and conversion. It will help to increase the management decisions validity meant for projects implementation in the gas transportation segment within the framework of all the gas industry subsystems functioning.
