Annotation:

The subject, being researched in the article, considers the issue of using high-performance computing systems (supercomputing), when solving problems, arising in oil and gas complex. The issues of placing supercomputers in close proximity to unique fields and the rate of putting them into operation to ensure the possibility of modeling based on "big geological data" to guarantee competitiveness and increase efficient hydrocarbon production are considered. One of the key factors hindering the innovative development of the Russian oil and gas complex is the lack of computing power and supercomputers. The tasks of developing a digital oil and gas ecosystem, and decision-making methods in the existing and newly created oil and gas cyber-physical systems are given. The key oil and gas tasks that require the involvement of supercomputing include the problems of reviving the fields that are at the final stage of operation, modeling and managing oil and gas production based on big data, functioning of a digital oil and gas ecosystem, digital modeling of production procedures and facilities.
