Annotation:

The authors of the article consider the application of LoRa (Long Range) promising wireless technology for monitoring distributed production facilities in various industries, including gas producing enterprises. The advantages and disadvantages are described and competing technologies are compared. Possible scenarios of using the technology in gas producing enterprises are proposed. The advantages of wireless LoRa technology for transmitting data from sensors for monitoring various parameters of equipment, pipelines and the environment are highlighted. An overview of the project implemented in "Gazprom dobycha Orenburg" LLC using LoRa technology for centralized automatic control of process parameters of gas condensate wells in the absence of grid power supply is provided and further prospects for its application are identified.
