Annotation:
One of the advantages of compact prover, along with weight and size, is its high accuracy due to the tight fit of the piston to the pipe walls. The piston O-rings deteriorate over time, increasing the metrological error of the prover as a flow standard. The development of advanced leakage detecting systems is an urgent scientific and technical task. The author of the current article considers the problems of improving the leak detection process. In the course of his scientific work, a degree of process automation was determined: it is necessary to use automatic positioning of the piston and setting the load of the piston, automatic control of the movement of the piston and the pressure drop at the piston. An improved design of the leak detector has been developed, characterized by the presence of linear electric drive for piston load setting and a displacement digital indicator connected to the prover control unit. An additional algorithm for the control unit has been developed that implements the leakage control functionality taking into account the improvements described above. The configuration of the control process (setpoints, piston load, number of control points) is requested by the control unit from the "upper" level after the "Start" command. Leak detection should be carried out at several points of the prover: at least at the beginning and at the end of the cylinder, monitoring in the middle of the calibrated section is also desirable.
