Oil and gas industry globalization means that a catastrophe in one country can have far-reaching economic and environmental aftereffects in other countries. That’s why, it is very important to take safety measures at oil and gas industry facilities for reducing damage and fire risks. One of the modern methods of extinguishing fires at oil and gas industry facilities is automatic fire extinguishing systems. The goal of the authors of the article is to minimize the response time of automatic fire extinguishing systems by integrating them with wireless sensor networks (WSN) supported by artificial intelligence. The use of stereo-chambers as an optic gage in WSN allows exact and quick determination of the fire place. The YOLOv5 model was used to detect fires providing 90 % accuracy of fires detection. The proposed system can more accurately control water cannons, located near the source of fire. During the simulation, fires were detected and start extinguishing it in less than 2,5 s.
