Automation of the educational process using training applications for personal computers and mobile devices

Annotation:
The authors of the article consider the development and use of automated teaching tools. A brief history of this knowledge area is presented and emphasis is placed on the introduction of automated teaching tools at the National University of Oil and Gas "Gubkin University". Current stage of automated tools evolution at the University is the development and use of educational applications for PC and mobile devices. The main subject of discussion is the "Physics-Laboratory" new educational application, which has been used since 2021 at the Department of Physics to train students in various technical specialties. The application is a set of digital simulators of various laboratory works in mechanics, molecular physics, wave and quantum physics, electromagnetism. The digital simulator differs from well-known virtual laboratory work by its built-in task generator and automatic tool which checks student’s work results. Another important difference is that the digital simulator is more focused on students self-dependent work. This made the digital simulator an effective addition to the traditional laboratory workshop in physics. The authors of the article also discuss some important methodological techniques that became the basis of the application training.
