Annotation:

Cable data transmission lines in the linear telemechanics system (LTMS) have a significant length, are laid openly, subject to overvoltages and various kinds of electromagnetic impacts. In this regard, it is very important to ensure the required level of protection for sensitive and expensive measuring equipment and automation systems. The authors of the article discuss the testing of input/output modules and an interface module from "Magistral" software and technical system (STS) manufactured by "Gazprom Automatizatsiya" PJSC for resistance to the effects of pulse overvoltages both with and without surge protection devices. The importance of such studies for designing LTMS with a sufficient level of protection against surge surges is noted.
