Application of the data interpolation method when processing the results of magnetic exploration

Annotation:

The authors of the article consider the effectiveness of the data interpolation method application when processing the results of magnetic exploration. Interpolation provides a lot of opportunities for missing values recovery, especially when working with incomplete, noisy, or distorted datasets. The main problem is caused by interference (noise) of a natural or anthropogenic nature, affecting the accuracy of measurement data. The authors of the article provide classification of interference, identify sources and consider methods for minimizing interference. The interpolation method also makes it possible to fill in data gaps caused by measurement errors, technical failures, or simply human factors. Using this instrument, it is also possible to improve the quality of data for their subsequent analysis. In future, based on the processed magnetic exploration data, it is possible to assess geological risks, as well as to plan drilling and optimize the location of wells. This is especially important in difficult geological conditions or in regions with a high level of competitive exploration, where every mistake can bring significant economic losses.
