Annotation:

The problem of trouble-free operation of basic electrical equipment at oil and gas fields largely depends on the correct implementation of protective devices. The authors of the article analyze the data obtained in the course of studying the digital twin relay protection of an electric motor in case of an earth fault in various neutral modes. The reactions of the proposed model in single-phase and two-phase earth faults are evaluated and the necessity of selective protection application is justified depending on the method of neutral grounding, which makes it possible to increase the sensitivity of relay protection in terms of uninterrupted operation of the electric motor. Based on the results obtained, a block diagram of the model was built and an algorithm for setting the parameters of a digital model for protecting an electric motor from ground faults was developed. The article is intended for engineers and technical workers involved in the design and operation of electrical installations.
