The authors of the article describe an algorithm and a program designed to automate the search for optimal values of the catalytic process parameters of ethylene oligomerization. A significant difficulty arising in the process of searching for a solution to optimal control problems in the field of chemical engineering is the nonlinearity of catalytic process models, which complicates the use of traditional mathematical apparatus. Therefore, an approach to solving problems of chemical processes optimization is proposed, which suggets using evolutionary search methods, in particular, genetic algorithms. Their specific feature is the independence of operation from the type of mathematical description of the process. The authors of the article formulate the problems of optimal control of the ethylene oligomerization process based on its mathematical model and provide a genetic algorithm for their numerical solution. The software is described that allows calculating the optimal temperature mode, optimal reaction duration as well as performing a simultaneous search for optimal time and temperature values. The calculation results obtained using the program developed by the authors of the article are presented.
