Annotation:
The authors of the article consider the problem of using UX/UI (User Experience/User Interface) principles when developping geographic information systems (GIS). Incorrect use of UX/UI when developing GIS applications can lead to a number of consequences that can be avoided by following the presented methodology. The authors describe the basic principles and procedure for developing the user’s interface of GIS applications, the advantages of using interactive prototypes as well as highlight the main criteria for determining the user's desire to adders the application again. Based on our own developments, the benefits of using UX/UI design principles when creating geographic information systems. GIS are used to solve theoretical scientific and applied problems in various fields, from transport navigation to emergency analytics. GIS applications developed using the UX/UI design principles described in the publication will help to significantly reduce the time it takes to learn the system interface and reduce emerging risks. These approaches ensure the efficiency of work in the created software. In the course of this work, a methodological description of the process of developing a UX/UI design and an interactive prototype of the web module "Cartographic Portal of the Mining Company" as well as a mobile version of the GIS, used in the service of the chief surveyor of the mining company (MC) for visualization and analysis of spatial data on the MC infrastructure facilities within the framework of the information system "Centralized Geoinformation System" (IS "CGIS") were prepared.
