COMPARISON OF BHA DYNAMIC BEHAVIOR DURING ROTOR AND TURBINE DRILLING

Annotation:

The paper considers the dynamics of the behavior and the conditions for the occurrence of resonance of the bottom hole assembly (BHA) when it is turned by the turbine and rotor due to the formation and propagation of longitudinal and torsional vibrations in it at the undulating bottom. The proposed methodology for calculating the bit trajectory and the dynamics of the BHA behavior while drilling by the rotor is detailed in the Journals "Construction of oil and gas wells onshore and offshore" No. 9, 2019 [1] and No. 2, 2020 [2]. Theoretical calculations, made by applying this method, were confirmed in the process of studying the BHA behavior dynamics when drilling well No. 500 of the "Orenburgneft Association" in the Buzuluk Drilling Directorate at the Bobrovskoye field. Thanks to the experiment, the relationship between the resonance frequencies and the BHA length was established when a system of interconnected longitudinal and torsional standing waves occured, forming such a surface bottomhole profile, that at the point of the bit contact with the bottomhole at natural frequencies, their impedances are matched, when drilling by both a rotor and a turbine.
