Annotation:

The paper presents the rationale for constructing a mathematical model of the movement of drilling washing fluid in a well annular space. A universal model that describes the largest number of parameters of a non-Newtonian fluid – the three-parameter Herschel-Bulkley model was chosen as a rheological model of the fluid. The relevance of this study is substantiated by the influence of the velocity profile type of the drilling fluid ascending flow on the quality of sludge removal when cleaning the wellbore. Due to the high mathematical complexity of solving differential equations of motion, the Wolfram Mathematica symbolic computing package was used with the implementation of a search for a numerical solution to find the velocities profile.
