Annotation:

The methods for measuring the strength of silicate gels intended for waterproofing works in oil and gas wells are compared. The methods of immersing the cylinder with recording the maximum load, tangential displacement of a perforated plate and immersion of a cone have been studied. It was determined that these methods are suitable for evaluating gels with a structure. It is shown that the addition of PAA-B polyacrylamide in the amount of 0,04–0,06 % leads to an increase in the strength of silicate gels.
