Annotation:

The construction of horizontal wells in the target formations of the Yu group in the Western Siberia is often connected with a number of complications associated with the presence of intervals of unstable deposits. It is necessary to develop a highly inhibited drilling fluid, the use of which will prevent the softening of clay rocks that form the walls of the well. The article proposes to increase the inhibiting ability of known drilling fluids by introducing additional organic inhibitors based on fatty acids of vegetable oils into their composition.
