Annotation:

Exploration wells are drilled in the Achimov deposits in the north of the Western Siberia under conditions of abnormally high reservoir pressures with a gradient of up to 2,10 MPa/100 m and at high reservoir temperatures up to 150 °C. With an increase of a well depth and the period of the wellbore being in an uncased state when drilling intervals of clay rocks prone to swelling under the influence of the drilling mud filtrate, complications are observed associated with the wells walls destruction – talus, rock falls, sticking of drilling equipment. LUKOIL-Engineering Limited KogalymNIPIneft" Branch Office in Tyumen has developed a specialized a formic acid weighted drilling fluid, which made it possible to ensure trouble-free construction of deep wells in the north of the Western Siberia.
