Annotation:

The article shows that, despite more than half a century of experience in the construction of arctic wells, the problem of casing stringscollapse in the frozen rock interval is still relevant. Based on the analysis of field data, the circumstances and causes of casing strings collapse were determined. Possible models for the occurrence of high pressure during reverse freezing of the well space are analyzed. A conceptual model of the dynamics of pressure growth during freezing of fluid behind the outer casing string is presented. Recommendations are given for predicting and calculating the reverse freezing pressure. Effective measures are proposed to prevent collapse of casing strings in the interval of frozen rocks occurrence.
