Annotation:

The mechanism of deformation is considered, the process of compaction and weakening of rocks at super-depths (10−15 km) under the rock pressure influence is analyzed, taking into account the data of ultra-deep drilling of SG-3well. It is shown that, along with the of rocks compaction, as the rock pressure increases at the depths of more than 4–6 km, due to the disproportion between strength and deformability, there occurs cracking of rocks - their destruction followed by formation of cracks. In this case, the process of rocks weakening by cracking is accompanied by the massif compaction (due to rock pressure). It is assumed that along with the processes of rocks softening with the depth increase there will be observed an increase of the rocks plastic properties due to the temperature increase. The presented mechanism of rocks deformation, taking into account the influence of high temperature, is supposed to be used in computer modeling of the rocks’ hardening and softening processes at super-depths, taking into account the structural features of the massif.
