Annotation:

The use of 3D seismic data is always relevant in the search, exploration and development of oil and gas fields, including those that are at the later stages of development, when a pool of geological drilling targets at the main objects has been fulfilled and it is required to build wells in the areas with increased geological risks. Often, in case of a complex geological structure of the target reservoir, even the presence of a significant well stock does not completely remove the uncertainties associated with the distribution of reservoirs and their properties in the inter-well space, especially the marginal parts of the reservoir. Such a problem is typical for the fields where the development of layers formed in continental conditions of sedimentation is underway. In this case, an effective instrument is required to solve the problem of predicting reservoir development in order to reduce production drilling risks. The authors of the article show how geological risks can be reduced during production drilling through the use of 3D seismic survey in general and seismic inversion in particular.
