Annotation:

The author of the article pays attention to the fact that residual deformation occurrence in the rock under the end of the indenter pressed into is associated with the processes taking place in the rock when the contact pressure exceeds the value of its conditional yield strength. Such processes are the grinding of solid mineral components of the rock in cramped conditions, the appearance of electric charges on the fresh surface of destructible dielectric minerals and the relaxation of these charges, the compression of the emerging powder product, its compaction, and the formation of a polydispersedsolid body under the end of the indenter. An increase in the mechanical drilling speed provides stimulation of the shear instability of the loaded rock by reducing the external friction forces between the powder particles under the indenter end and by reducing the liquid compressibility in the presence of which the indenter is pressed. To increase drilling mechanical speed of chemical compounds added to the drilling fluid should simultaneously reduce the forces of external friction between powder particles and the fluid compressibility.
